Policy Highlights
Extending the period of foreigners’ employment permit.
In accordance with the Administrative License Law of the People's Republic of China, "Where a license needs to extend the valid period of an Employment permit it obtained in accordance with the law, it shall file an application with the administrative authority that made the decision about the Employment permit 30 days prior to the expiry of the valid period of this Employment permit." As of February 28, 2018, all applications to extend the validity period of foreigners' Employment permit in China needs be filed 30 days prior to the expiry of the Employment permit. Applications received within 30 days of the permits expiry will be rejected and shall need to go through the reapplication process.

Applicant should start the Employment Permit extension earlier in advance to avoid any renewal application rejections.
