SIRVA Housing Matters/ Market Snaphot: Asia & Middle East (June 2018)
We start off 2018 with an optimistic economic outlook in the region and beyond. Global economic growth is expected to be 3.1% this year, according to the World Bank. The trade war between the USA and China, peace developments in the Korean peninsula, as well as a change of government in Malaysia after six decades dominate regional headlines, and the impact will be seen throughout the year.
Expatriate arrivals into the region are set to pick up pace in the next few quarters, following historical seasonal trends. Rents for expatriate-friendly accommodation have generally followed anticipated movements.
