SIRVA’s management team includes some of our industry’s most respected leaders—men and women who redefine relocation every day in their words and deeds. They are charged with ensuring that SIRVA is moving the relocation industry forward, and that SIRVA itself leads the charge in delivering the best mobility experience at the lowest total cost. Our management team insists upon excellence in all we do; most notably, in serving our customers.

Wes W. Lucas was named SIRVA chief executive officer and board member in July 2008. A seasoned executive with experience in a variety of C-suite roles at global Fortune 500 corporations as well as small private companies, Lucas is widely known for his ability to drive company growth through the development of enhanced execution capabilities and delivery of superior customer value.
From 2001 to 2006, Lucas served as chairman, chief executive officer and president of Sun Chemical, the world’s largest color company with 300 operating plants and approximately $4 billion in annual sales. Prior to this, he was co-chairman of Kodak Polychrome, a joint venture between Kodak and the world’s largest provider of imaging equipment and materials for commercial media. Previous significant leadership roles also include serving as chief executive officer and president of Quebecor World, a $6 billion printing services company; president of Sytrenics Nova Chemicals, a leader in plastics and materials; vice president of AlliedSignal, a multi-billion-dollar industrial company; and as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.
Lucas holds a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School, and a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting from the University of California, Berkeley.
Jason Birnbaum is chief information officer of SIRVA, Inc., responsible for providing vision, direction and leadership for all information technology (IT) applications and operations.
Birnbaum joined SIRVA in 2011 from GE Healthcare, where he was CIO/Global Supply Chain for two years, responsible for all IT processes and developing a strong, customer-focused IT team. Prior to GE Healthcare, his career at GE included 14 years working in IT positions for a variety of GE operating units.
Birnbaum holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri and an MBA in finance and MIS from the University of Illinois. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt in information technology quality.
Deborah L. Balli, CRP, GMS, is a wife and mother residing in Minneapolis, MN. She and her family are avid outdoors’ enthusiasts and enjoy sharing good books.
Balli was named president of SIRVA’s Global Relocation Services in May 2008 following her role as senior vice president of operations, which she assumed in mid-2007. Balli originally joined SIRVA in 1996 serving in numerous roles crossing most customer-facing and functional aspects of the business including transferee counseling, client account management and consulting, supplier-partner relations and leading multiple operating regions.
Balli is an active member in the worldwide Employee Relocation Council and holds the Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) and Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) designations.

Drew joined SIRVA in 2004 as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and was shortly promoted to the Vice President of Quality for Moving Services. In 2005 Drew became the Global Quality Leader for Moving Services, focusing on our global moving business quality. In 2006 Drew relocated to the Czech Republic as Vice President of EMEA Operations. He founded our EMEA Operational Center by consolidating several Western European Offices into a single entity located in Prague. He then was promoted to Vice President of Global Operations in 2007, returning to our US Headquarters in Westmont, IL. Later that year he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of our International Moving Business. In August 2009, Drew was promoted to Executive Vice President, Moving Services Operations and relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Prior to joining SIRVA, Drew spent 11 years with Sears Roebuck & Company, mostly with The Great Indoors retail chain. His roles within Sears included Sales Manager, Inventory Buyer, Marketing Manager, Merchandise Buyer and Operations Manager. Drew received his Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN and is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Mike Filipovic has served as President of Australia and New Zealand since November 2005, and is responsible for the continued growth and market leadership of the Moving and Relocation businesses in Australia and New Zealand. He joined SIRVA in 2002 as CFO, Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining SIRVA, Filipovic was with Motorola Australia for 10 years in a variety of roles including Finance Director, Managing Director, and CEO of Ozitel JV. Prior to his time at Motorola, his career included working for BHP Billiton and Franklin Mint.
Filipovic holds a Bachelor of Business degree in Finance from Monash University, and is an accredited CPA.
Douglas V. Gathany joined SIRVA in June 2001 and has served as senior vice president, treasurer since October 2007. Gathany was vice president, treasurer from June 2001 to October 2007. Prior to joining SIRVA, Gathany held various positions with Montgomery Ward, a retail merchandising organization, since 1979, including as vice president-treasurer from 1996 to 2001.
Gathany holds a master’s degree in business administration from University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and mathematics from Colby College in Waterville, ME.

Jacob George is President of Asia and Middle East for SIRVA, Inc., responsible for investing and growing in Asia and the Middle East by focusing on sound strategies for increasing market share, winning customers, entering new markets, commercializing new services and continuing to be innovative in regards to how we serve our customers.
George has over 15 years of experience in the relocation business, with extensive knowledge in sales, marketing, growth in geographies and product areas, client engagement and operations.
Prior to joining SIRVA, George was with Primacy as President of Asia for 3 years and was responsible for building one of the strongest and most successful relocation businesses in Asia. Under his leadership, Primacy expanded significantly in destination services through acquisitions and organic growth. He also helped Primacy expand geographically through gaining market share, opening new offices and winning new customers. Prior to joining Primacy, his career included working for Prudential as the Vice President of Asia for 11 years.
George holds a masters degree in business administration from the University of Dallas. He is also a member of the Employee Relocation Council, and has earned his Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) designation.
William J. Lyon joined SIRVA in 1984. As President of Agent Networks, he is responsible for agent relations and providing leadership to both Allied Van Lines and North American Van Lines agent network for US and Canada. Prior to this, Lyon started with North American Van Lines Canada and held multiple management positions including Director and Vice President of Operations – overseeing network operations and safety. In 2007 Bill became the Vice President/General Manager Allied Van Lines responsible for business vision, market strategies and growth to the van line network.

Thomas Oberdorf is chief financial officer of SIRVA, Inc., responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s financial function, including accounting, controllership, business planning, budgeting, capital planning/utilization, and treasury and tax management. SIRVA’s legal and purchasing functions also report to him.
Oberdorf joined SIRVA in 2011 from Orchard Brands Corporation, where he was a consultant and interim chief financial officer, and from Infogroup Inc., where he was executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer for two years, responsible for SEC reporting, treasury, taxes, financial planning, procurement and investor relations. Prior to Infogroup, his career included working for Getty Images Inc., CMGI Inc. and the Bertelsmann Music Group.
Oberdorf holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Boston College and an MBA from the University of New Haven. He is a member of the board of directors of UFP Technologies and also serves on that company’s audit and compensation committees.

Meg Pais joined SIRVA in 2006 as Vice President of Human Resources for Relocation and took on the role of the Global HR Leader in 2009. When joining SIRVA in 2006, Pais led the Relocation Human Resources function focusing on operational excellence and human resources best practices, and responsibilities included change management initiatives, HR strategic planning including restructuring, attraction and retention of key talent, compensation and benefits, talent management and employee relations.
In 2009, Pais was promoted to Head of Human Resources, to include Domestic US, Asia Pacific, and Middle East, Europe and Australia/New Zealand. Responsibilities include change management initiatives, HR strategic planning including restructuring, attraction and retention of key talent, compensation and benefits committee responsibilities, and talent management and employee relations. Pais is also responsible for the Corporate Services functions to include buildings and leases, receptionists, records retention and facilities planning.
Prior to joining SIRVA, Pais spent 2 years with Dell Corporation and 8 years with Telxon Corporation, a wireless technology corporation. Her roles within Dell and Telxon included Manager Compensation and Benefits, Director of Human Resources and Vice President of Human Resources. Pais received her Bachelor of Arts from Baldwin Wallace College in Cleveland Ohio, and a Master’s of Science in Organizational Development and Analysis from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio.

Linda Smith joined SIRVA in 2012. She brings with her a wealth of sales and marketing experience. As Chief Commercial Officer, she oversees SIRVA’s commercial sales teams and is responsible for all global sales, marketing, advertising, public relations, and new product development activities. She is also responsible for SIRVA’s global pricing, contracts, and RFP efforts.
Prior to joining SIRVA, Smith had a distinguished career with Ricoh, where she served as Vice President of Ricoh Global Services and Area Vice President of Field Sales Operations. Over her 18-year-career at Xerox, she held various executive positions, including Vice President and General Manager of Field Sales Operations, National Vice President of National Agent Channel Marketing, and Vice President of United States Marketing.
Throughout her career, Smith has focused on increasing sales and enhancing profitability all while providing quality customer service to clients.
Smith holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY).
